The L&C Company is commissioned by our Clients to update the interiors of these historical English country houses and transform them into light and elegant family homes with a seamless flow, often modernising yet maintaining historic features.
The properties often date from the 18th century, with Georgian additions, resulting in some inconsistency with floor levels and interesting arrangements for our expert team to consider.
Rooms can sometimes be rather dark with small windows and our architectural interior design experts have years of experience to draw upon for clients to create more light and space. This can include removing the back walls of the property and adjoining impressive new rooms, such as Orangeries, for example.
On the ground floor, we love to create sociable areas around existing features such as fireplaces. We also bring in more casual seating and dining space that seamlessly blends with any newly extended spaces, giving our Clients several options for entertaining.
When joining rooms, the designs are planned meticulously to complement each other for a harmonious feel, often focusing on traditional English fabrics, furnishing styles, and a light, calm colour palette - yet always fulfilling our clients own unique vision.
Throughout these magnificent English Country Homes, we collaborate closely with our Client to incorporate their existing antique furniture. Often, this involves working closely with our skilled artisans and craftspeople to refurbish them back to best.
